The 2014 Malta Eurovision Song Contest was won last Saturday by the group Firelight.
The song they play is a country song called “Coming Home”. They will be representing Malta in this year’s Eurovsion. Firelight is a five man band including a man with an Appalachian mountain dulcimer and a woman with the harmonica.
Some reactions on facebook and the Internet complained that the televoting was in favour of Jessika’s Hypnotica rather than Firelight, and that the jury consisted of tv station representatives rather than music industry experts.
Gianluca Bezzina – last year’s Malta Eurovision Song Contest winner – performed with his family as well as with Eurovision singer Ira Losco.
